  • KSRTC receives the “CHIEF MINISTER RATHNA AWARD” for the year 2009-10



Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka has Presented “CHIEF MINISTER RATHNA” award 2009-10 to Sri. Gaurav Gupta, IAS, Managing Director of K.S.R.T.C on 17-05-2010 at Palace ground, Banglore, for excellence in performance by the Corporation during 2009-10.


The KSRTC since its establishment in 1961 is accredited with providing a safe and efficient co-ordinated Transport Services in the Country. In the recent years the Corporation has introduced modern state of art buses like Airavat, Ambaari, Sheetal, Megadhoota and are providing economical transport services in the state and also connecting neighbouring States.


The KSRTC is the first Corporation to introduce Internet based advance ticket booking facility in addition to introducing Mobile ticket booking facility. The Corporation has adopted transparent recruitment system, Electronic Ticketing Machine, Good Governance Practices and environment friendly schemes. Considering all these achivements, Govt. of Karnataka has adjudged KSRTC as one of the Best Performing Public Enterprises and Presented “CHIEF MINISTER RATHNA” Award to KSRTC for the year 2009-10.



  • KSRTC receives the BEST 'Public Sector bus fleet operator of the year' award



Mr.Gaurav Gupta, IAS ,Managing Director KSRTC received the award for the best Public Sector fleet operator of the year which was given to KSRTC during the Apollo - CV Awards 2010 at ITC Grand Maratha, Mumbai.These awards, the first of their kind for India, are dedicated to the larger commercial vehicle industry - inclusive of trucks, buses, UVs, small commercial vehicles as also the eco-system comprising of component makers and fleet operators (customers).



  • KSRTC has got National award for "Exemplary implementation of E-Governance initiatives" in the 13th National Conference on E-Governance Held at Jaipur.



KSRTC project of AWATAR (On-line Passenger Seat Reservation System) was adjudged as the Best in the category of 'Exemplary Use of IT among PSUs'. Web-based Reservation system is one of the several technology driven initiatives taken up by the KSRTC in recent years, number of which have been recognised and awarded in various fora.



  • KSRTC has got Golden Peacock Innovative Product/Service Award-2010.



KSRTC has won the Prestigious “Golden Peacock Award Innovative Product/Service - 2010 ” instituted by Institute of Directors, New Delhi for successful implementation of web based Passenger Reservation System- AWATAR.The Award was presented by Sri. Ramachandra Gowda, Medical Education Minister, Govt.of Karnataka on 16-01-10 at 19.00 hrs, at Hotel Lalith Ashok, Bangalore. Sri. Bhagavathi, former Chief Justice of India was present during the occasion. The award was received by Sri. Gaurav Gupta, Managing Director, KSRTC, Sri. M.A.Saleem, Director (S&V) and Sri. Hemaraju, Director (Technical).

  • KSRTC has got award for excellence in URBAN TRANSPORT PROJECTS UNDER JN-NURM INITIATIVES FOR THE YEAR 2009.



The Hon’ble Minister for Transport Sri. R. Ashoka, Mr. Gaurav Gupta, IAS, Managing Director, KSRTC and Mr. M.A. Saleem, IPS, Director Security and Vigilance, KSRTC received the award for excellence from the hon’ble Union Urban Development Minister Sri. Jaipal Reddy in New Delhi on December 5th. The award was presented for excellence in URBAN TRANSPORT PROJECTS UNDER JN-NURM INITIATIVES FOR THE YEAR 2009, and the Karnataka is the first state which implemented AUTOMATED ELECTRONIC DRIVING TEST SYSTEM FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF DRIVERS in the State Road Transport Corporation.

  • OSHMS 18001,ISO 14001 & 9001 certification for conformance towards occupational health & safety management system standard
  • Safety innovation of 2006 for safety & quality by Institute of Eng. New Delhi.
  • EMPI-Indian express Indian innovation award -2006 for successful delivery of multiple end-results



  • Excellency Award for implementing ETM Machine



KSRTC has bagged Excellency Award for implementing Electronic Ticket issuing machine first of its kind in the country at Mysore City.

The award has been awarded by Sri. Ajay Maken, Minister of State for Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India to Sri. Gaurav Guptha I.A.S., Managing Director, KSRTC, Bangalore at New Delhi on 05-12-2008.
