Mathcelebration.com is a website run by the Community Math Center which is based in Rishi Valley School, Rishi Valley, Madanapalle, A.P. Its purpose is to serve as a web based math resource center for teachers and students.
Mathcelebration.com has the following goals in mind:
  • Working for the betterment of school level mathematics teaching, nation wide
  • Reaching out to mathematics teachers, nation wide, through a web based interface
  • Conducting workshops for mathematics teachers and students
  • Propagating the culture of discussion among mathematics teachers
  • Propagating the culture of problem solving among mathematics teachers and students
  • Making available high quality teaching materials
  • Showcasing the rich interface of mathematics with subjects such as Astronomy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Geography, Cartography, Operations Research, and Cryptography
  • Showcasing the rich history of the subject, and showing that mathematics is, at bottom, a human endeavour.
The website will be a forum for sharing ideas on teaching, exchanging math puzzles and math stories and math trivia, all with one aim in mind — betterment of school level math teaching, nation wide.

It will be updated with new material once every month.

The website is maintained by Dr. Shailesh Shirali, Director, Community Math Center, Rishi Valley School, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Shailesh Shirali has an extensive background in mathematics education and has been centrally involved in the mathematics olympiad movement of the country since 1988. He is the author of numerous books and articles in mathematics.
